In turnarounds it's common to do this for any of the chords. Bob's site has one of the most detailed, easy to read explanations I've seen on how to read guitar tab, and the site, overall, is a perfect place to just pick up your guitar and start getting familiar with reading tab notation. The instruments used in marching bands and dance bands became the basic instruments of jazz: brass and reeds tuned in the European 12-tone scale and drums.
